Instructions

  1. Pound & Season

Pound the chicken breast flat to about ½ inch / 1.3 cm, so it cooks evenly.

Season both sides with the salt, white pepper, paprika, cinnamon and ground ginger.

  2. Marinate

Rub the honey and black sesame oil all over the chicken. Cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 min.

  3. Coat

Coat in flour → egg → flour for extra crunch.

  4. Deep Fry

Heat the oil in a deep pot to 350–360°F / 175–180°C.

Deep fry for 5–7 min, turning once, until golden & crispy.

Internal temp: the thickest part should read 165°F / 74°C.

  5. Glaze

Warm the honey, black sesame oil and black sesame seeds in a wide pan over low heat for about 1 min, until runny.

Toss the crispy chicken in the warm honey glaze.

  6. Serve

Serve with rice or enjoy as is.

Sweet, crispy, perfectly balanced.
